Newly built QU Health Centre ready to be handed over to MoPH

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) yesterday announced that it has completed the construction of the Qatar University (QU) Health Centre and started the process of its handover to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH). This is in line with the government’s plans regarding the development of the country’s health sector, Ashghal has said. The new health centre is the fourth one to be delivered since the economic blockade was imposed on Qatar on June 5, 2017. Accomplishment of the Qatar University Health Centre, located to the south of QU in Duhail, marks the conclusion of a package of four healthcare projects. These are Muaither, Al Wajbah, Al Waab and QU health centres. Project engineer Ahmed Salah yesterday told a group of journalists during a visit to the new centre that the facility is one of the best of its kind in Qatar. Constructed at a cost of QR150mn, the QU Health Centre is spread over a built-up area of more than 23,300sq m and comprises four-level main building with a two-level basement designed as a car parking facility as well as ground and upper levels dedicated to clinics, laboratories, administrative offices and other annexes.
